Article Marketing Strategies
Article marketing is a great way to promote your website and increase your traffic at no cost. However, there are a few different strategies that can be used, depending on the result you are looking for.
The first strategy is used simply for promotion of your company and/or website in a particular publication. This is done in the form of a press release type article that focuses strictly on one specific area of your business, and is submitted to one, very targeted publication. This is a great way to reach a very targeted audience, but limits you only to the life of the publication (usually one month).
The second strategy is a form of viral marketing. This would entail writing a very general article, focusing on a particular subject that is featured on your content-based website. With this technique, you submit this article to many online article directories and ezine sites. This creates a form of viral marketing because the article has the potential to be published by many different websites, and possibly be read by thousands. This is a very good way to get free traffic for years to come.
The key to this type of marketing is all in the signature box. Directly following the article, provide your name or the name of your website and a direct link to your site.
Many people like to include a brief bio, but I recommend a brief summary of what other types of topics are covered on your site. The goal is to get them to your site, not become a "recognized" name.
